MAIN EFFORTS TO REDUCE CO2 AND ENERGY AT THE OKEGAWA PLANT.

By means of the following measures, we are saving energy. We have also achieved 24.6% reduction of CO2 towards the CO2 emission target of 6% stipulated in the measures to combat global warming promoted by Saitama Prefecture.

May 2006 Changed over boiler fuel from heavy oil to town gas.

April 2008 Installed natural gas/engine co-generation system.

Installation of natural gas/co-generation equipment at the Okegawa Plant. As part of environmental conservation measures, we installed new natural gas/co-generation equipment at the Okegawa Plant, one of our prduction bases, which began operating on 1 May, 2008.

Due to this, the total amount of energy used by the plant has been cut by about 10%,contributing to energy-saving, and by using natural gas, which is considered a clean energy source, we have made further progress in building plants with low environmental burden which are environmentally-friendly.

Approx. 72% of the total power used by the plant annually is supplied by this system, and it can also cover power supply risks.

July 2009 Introduced new lines and discontinued dilapidated lines

January 2013 Due to ESCO services, upgraded air compressors and plant lighting.
